This is a drawn section of the gallery, which establishes the connection between staircases, the datum (gallery), the upper levels (Mueck's studio) and the lower level (Malangi's studio)
This is the staircase from the gallery into the below ground level (Malangi's studio) It seems to be suspended in the air, but it is actually being supported by the surrounding walls in multiple areas, allowing the sturdy staircase to look 'weightless'. the staircase will be made from titanium and both ordinary and tinted red glass. The titanium steps will be welded together allowing the step to be connected by the walls.
This is a sectional drawing of the staircase from the gallery into Mueck's studio area. It appears to be not only floating but in some aspects also invisible. the stair will be made from glass and titanium will be used to strengthen it. The stair will be supported by the sides, and the bottom of it will be cut out creating an opening throughout, a deliberate designer touch.
